It is the intention of the Municipality of Clarington (the “Municipality”) to prequalify contractors through this document (the “Prequalification Document). The project involves the removal of the existing concrete arena floor and the installation of a new refrigerated concrete floor in addition to the refurbishment of the arena metal roof at Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex, located at 2440 Highway 2 West, Bowmanville Ontario. The Pad A arena floor was constructed 1988 and has been experiencing ongoing leaks with the infloor piping system that has made total replacement necessary. The Pad A arena metal roof was also installed in 1988 and requires some repair and a total repainting. The timing on this project is critical as the arena will be scheduled back in full operation for the 2018/19 ice season which beings September 1, 2018. The end of the 2017/18 ice season is scheduled for March 31, 2018. Tender documents are scheduled to be issued in January 2018 with construction to start on April 2, 2018. Completion of the entire project is to be no later than September 1, 2018. |
